Beginning January 3, all of our services will be offered on an individual coaching bases seven days a week.</p>
<p>Lets take a look at the new services:</p>
<ul>
<li>We will no longer offer anger management groups at our Brentwood location.</li>
<li>All clients will receive the BarOn EQ 2.0 Emotional Intelligence Assessment on-line prior to the first coaching<br />
session.</li>
<li>The first two hours of each coaching program will be devoted to interpreting/debriefing the BarOn Assessment and developing an action plan for skill enhancement.</li>
<li>Rather than hourly sessions, two three or four hours can be scheduled for each coaching session.</li>
<li>All of our Coaches are trained at the Masters Degree level.</li>
<li>Appointments can be scheduled on a short notice.</li>
<li>Assessment, book and training material Cost: $200.</li>
<li>Hourly fees for anger management or emotional intelligence coaching: $95.</li>
<li>Coaching for &#8220;disruptive physicians&#8221; in Brentwood: $4900 includes assessments, 12 hours of in-person coaching and 6 months of aftercare.</li>
<li>On site Coaching for &#8220;disruptive physicians&#8221;: $5900 plus per diem, ground and air travel and hotel accommodations. Six months of aftercare coaching via phone.</li>

<p>The term “disruptive behavior” in two elements of performance (LD.03.01.01, EPs 4 and 5) has been revised to “behavior or behaviors that undermine a culture of safety.” It has been brought to the attention of staff at The Joint Commission that the term “disruptive behavior” is not viewed favorably by some in health care, and it can be ambiguous for some audiences. For example, some physicians object that strong advocacy for improvements in patient care can be characterized as disruptive behavior. Also, the phrase “disruptive behavior” may be used in the context of a care environment that has become temporarily unsettled by the behavior of a patient. The term was discussed with The Joint Commission’s Accreditation Committee and its Board of Commissioners. Because of the term’s potential for ambiguity, the new term better describes the problem that the standard is trying to address. The change will be made in the update to the accreditation manuals, which will publish in the spring of 2012. (Contact: Maureen Carr, mcarr@jointcommission.org)</p>
<p>Anderson &amp; Anderson welcomes this change and will begin immediately to advocate this new more positive definition of this important problem. The new definition more correctly explains the issue as &#8220;behavior or behaviors that undermine a culture of safety.&#8221;</p>

This new edit will dramatically increase the demand to legitimate anger management providers in California. </p>
<p>A statewide initiative by Anderson &amp; Anderson to train more CAMF&#8217;s began recently with two trainings in Oakland, one in Fresno and a third scheduled for Los Angeles for June 1,2,3. Participants who complete theses trainings will be placed on the Anderson &amp; Anderson Certified Provider list once they purchase the required training material and sign up for the Bar On EQ1 Pre and Post Test. </p>
<p>Contracting opportunities are available at many of the hundreds of Parole Offices throughout the state of California for Certified Providers interested in providing anger management classes at the various Parole offices in the state.  All of these intervention programs must include the following:</p>
<p>• Evidenced Based Curricula<br />
• Pre and Post Test<br />
• Client Workbooks in Spanish and English<br />
• Ancillary training material<br />
• Ability to work with previously incarcerated clients.  </p>

These Coaches are trained in the use of anger management, stress management, communication and empathy.</p>
<p>Persons who have deficits in assertive communication, empathy, compassion, listing skills, stress management or civility are almost always vulnerable to problems in interpersonal relationships in work and intimate relationships.</p>
<p>Individual or Couples Coaching begins with an individual Emotional Intelligence assessment followed by skill enhancement coaching in the areas in which change is needed. Client workbooks are used for couples and individuals.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="vs-topic" topic="My First Week at Anderson and Anderson " link="https://www.andersonservices.com/blog/2011/09/my-first-week-at-aderson-and-anderson/"><p>Working at Anderson and Anderson has been a sheer delight.  My first day here, I had the opportunity to meet with George Anderson and his wife, Nancy. They shared many stories with me, including their many honorable accomplishments.  Mr. and Mrs. Anderson were kind enough to offer for me to take their Anger Management Facilitators training starting the following day.  I walked out of the meeting thinking how lucky I am to have landed such a wonderful opportunity.</p>
<p>The next three days, I participated in the Anger Management Facilitation training, facilitated by Mr. Colbert Williams, a fellow Trojan. The training was very informative and stimulating, even with my clinical background in social work. I have facilitated many social skills groups in the past, but attending this training has given me a new approach to take with clients in an Anger Management setting.  One thing that really impacted me during the training was a quote I read in the workbook “It takes six seconds to manage anger, it takes six seconds to create compassion, it takes six seconds to make a difference” by <em>Six Seconds</em>. This left a lasting impression, reminding me why I went into the field of social work.</p>
<p>Every morning, I walk into the office anticipating what new challenges await me, as I am welcomed by Mr. Anderson asking me “Challenge me, ask me something hard.”  I am very much looking forward to working with the Guru of Anger Management, George Anderson.</p>
